The town of Rincón (meaning "Corner") is located in the most western part of PUERTO RICO. The area surrounding the Lighthouse to the west of our property is known as 'The SUNSET COAST' where the sun goes down over the water and next to close-by Desecheo Island which has a reef on which to snorkel or scuba. This area has some of the best surf locations on the island (Maria's, Indicators, Deadman's, Domes) and many Surfing championships have been held here. Up the road in front of our property, lies 'The NORTH COAST' which is known for having some of the best beaches on the island (Pool's, Sandy Beach, Antonio's) and to the south of us, closer to the center of town in Rincon, are great beaches & surf spots and an ecological park (Steps, Tres Palmas and Little Malibu)!!
Our property in CENTRO PUNTAS (meaning "Point"), Rincón, Puerto Rico consists of 2 separate accommodations in 2 separate residences off PR-413 and between the above mentioned two coasts. We are on a ridge with sensational water views in two directions - Caribbean Sea to the west with white water views of the break at Domes and Indicators and Aguadilla Bay to the north & east. We are less than .2 miles to the beautiful northwestern Puerto Rico island beaches and the best surfing areas Rincón has to offer - plus the bakery, the convenience store and a couple of bars are only a 2 minute walk. From the house down the street and through the nature reserve is a 10 minute walk to Domes beach.
It is only a short drive to the towns of Rincón, Mayaguez and Aguadilla where you will find shops & a Shopping Mall, food stores, gas stations as well as various restaurants & bars. We are within 25 minutes from the Aguadilla Airport (AQN) and about 2 hours from the San Juan Airport (SJU). There are many local opportunities for swimming, surfboarding, kicking the sand, gathering seashells, getting a suntan, snorkeling & scuba diving over beach access reefs or after a short boat ride to Desecheo's reefs, visiting an ecological park, a lighthouse, walking seaside trails - or just relaxing !! Bring your own surfboards, snorkel, scuba and other gear or rent them locally - Mar Azul Rentals and Desecheo Surf & Scuba Shop are located nearby.
